What's Coming Up in June, 2015?

Holy crap! It's already June? We are getting closer and closer to Summer which means that kids are out of school, vacations are happening all over the place (according to the roughly 40 gazillion photos on Facebook each day, yes that beach looks great from that angle too, now chill out), hot days, cool drinks, and a plethora of new video game releases (I LOVE using the word "Plethora").

So what's happening during the month my mother was born? (Happy "27th" birthday, Mom....again....apparently....Love You).

June 1st:

Massive Chalice - (PC, Mac, Linux)

The newest game from Double Fine, the game feels like a fantasy-themed XCom-style game with a deep "Royal Bloodlines" mechanic. I did a look at this game during Early Access (which you can find the archived version on my YouTube channel -HINT-) and enjoyed what the game was then, I look forward to checking out the finished product.

June 2nd:

Heroes of the Storm - (PC, Mac)

Blizzard's answer to Dota, HotS is finally ready to come out of beta and be the new kid on the MOBA block. The game has some cool things going for it, going off my time playing the Alpha and the Beta, but we will see how the eSports crowd takes to it and see how it does against Dota 2, League of Legends, and SMITE.

June 9th:

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited - (PS4, Xbox One)

After being available for PC for a while now, and undergoing several changes/delays, ESO finally hits the new consoles. After a few hours with the PC version, I can tell you it's a pretty cool game. Easy for anyone familiar with the Elder Scrolls games, or a game like World of Warcraft, to pick up and at least understand what's going on. Most importantly: NO MONTHLY FEE!

June 12th:

LEGO Jurassic World - (PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, 3DS)

Another major motion picture from a (mostly) beloved franchise, another LEGO game to cash-in. You knew it was gonna happen. Luckily, many of the LEGO games happen to be a lot of fun, hence why they still sell well.

June 16th - 18th:

E3 2015

The biggest gaming convention of the year. Expect to read my thoughts on all the press conferences as well as thoughts on games I'm excited for, games I question, and probably another delay on The Division. I will say, I am looking forward to seeing any news on Fallout 4.

June 23rd: (YES! YES! YES! HOLY SHIT YES!)

Batman: Arkham Knight - (PC, Xbox One, PS4)

The final chapter in the Batman: Arkham series, featuring an improved combat system, stunning graphics, and (reportedly) no load times. It will be interesting to see where developer Rocksteady Studios go from here, but until then YEEEEEE! Can't wait!!!!!

Other Notes:

- Hatred, one of the most controversial games of this generation, releases on PC June 1st. The game is rated the rare "AO - Adults Only", so don't expect anyone live streaming that on Twitch.

- Payday 2: Crimewave Edition comes to PS4 and Xbox One June 16th, which will include the game and a lot of the PC DLC. I played a lot of the PC game and I thoroughly enjoy it.

- Devil May Cry 4: Special Edition will hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One on June 23rd. It will include new characters, costumes, and new voice tracks, and will look and run very smooth and pretty, I'm sure.

- On a sad note, Club Nintendo (Nintendo's rewards service it advertises in all its first party games where you enter in a code, get points, and redeem them for Nintendo swag) will cease North American operations on June 30th. Sad face.

There are the highlights for June. Keep checking the blog as I keep the content coming. Including Twitch live streams, YouTube features, thoughts during E3, and more!

As always, thank you for your continued support as I try to take the lifelong dream of working in the video game industry and attempt to make it a reality.
