What's Coming Up in October?

Q4 2014 is upon us, which means companies are loaded and ready for the holidays. There are a lot of big releases coming out so let's get right to it and highlight a few games coming out this Halloween month:

October 3rd:

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS - (3DS)

Yes, just....yes. I have played A LOT of the demo and am really enjoying it. Some of my questions from my earlier post are being answered and I can't wait to download this at midnight. My Little Mac play is going to be stuff of legends.

October 5th:

Skylanders: Trap Team - (3DS, PS3, PS4, Wii, WiiU, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

The next game, and next line of toys, in the popular Skylanders franchise is released and guarantees to invade more of your shelves at home with their plastic awesomeness.

October 7th:

Alien: Isolation - (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

A survival-horror game following the events of the original movie. Isolation has been scaring the crap out of people at various conventions this year and may finally be a good Alien game.

NBA 2K15 - (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

It's another gorgeous looking basketball game.

October 14th:

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! (Mac, PC, Linux, PS3, Xbox 360)

Set between the events of Borderlands 1 and 2, The Pre-Sequel! will add more of the "shoot-and-loot" gameplay we all love. New weapons, new characters, new elements.

The Evil Within - (PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

One of the most terrifying (and talked about) horror games get unleashed upon the world. Perfect for Halloween, terrible for thoughts of a good night's sleep.

October 21st:

Fantasia: Music Evolved - (Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Dust off your Kinects and your Sorcerer Mickey hats and wave your hands to the beat.

October 24th:

Bayonetta 2 - (WiiU)

Hey, a WiiU sighting! The follow-up to the wildly successful Bayonetta (which is included in this WiiU package), expect a lot of Nintendo fan service in here.

Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth - (PC, Mac, Linux)

Civ with a future/sci-fi coat of paint? Already sold me on it. This is going to be great!

October 25th:

My Extra Life charity live stream!!!!

I know it's not a game, but this is a very important day for me!

I will be playing video games on my twitch stream (found HERE) and any and all donations will directly benefit the University of Iowa Children's Hospital. I NEED your help to get me to (and above) my goal of $1,000.

To donate, click THIS LINK and then click "Support Me". I will be forever grateful. Please click the link, donate, support, and feel real good about yourself. It's a win-win!

October 28th:

NBA Live 15 - (PS4, Xbox One)

Let's see what EA Sports has up their sleeve this year. This is the second year Live has been on these newer consoles, we shall see what they learned and improved on.

Sunset Overdrive - (Xbox One)

This looks like cartoony, chaotic madness and I can not wait. I've been looking forward to this game for a WHILE!

Other Quick Hits:

- Costume Quest 2 comes to every console on October 7th.

- Driveclub finally hits PS4 on October 7th.

- Final Fantasy XIII comes to PC on October 9th.

- The Xbox One launch game Ryse: Son of Rome comes to PC October 10th.

- The much underrated Sleeping Dogs comes to newer consoles with Sleeping Dogs: Definitive Edition on October 14th, also with a PC release.

- Killer Instinct Season 2 kicks off October 15th on Xbox One, adding new characters, new costumes, and a release of Killer Instinct 2 Arcade.

- Game to keep an eye on: Fantasy Life for 3DS on October 24th. Level-5 (the Professor Layton and Ni-No-Kuni studio) know how to make a great looking RPG and it's worth looking into.

- WWE 2K15 comes out....for the older consoles, on October 28th. PS4 and Xbox One owners have to wait for the end of November.

- Telltale's critically acclaimed The Walking Dead series looks to be shuffling onto newer consoles this month. Right now listed as TBD, October seems like a fitting month to get a zombie fix though.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whew! That's just SOME of the titles happening this month, get ready cause the heavy hitters are coming out. Kiss your social life (and your paychecks) good-bye!
